A druid of her own review

Sexy, fun, warm, and action packed. This novella is everything I want in a paranormal romance. I found Kennard and Maggie to spicy and perfect for each other. Both of them were missing something in their lives and they found the perfect piece in one another. Despite their reluctance in starting a relationship, their connection was undeniable. Roth haswritten another excellent story. I look forward to more from her.

Heated Holiday Book Review

This story was awesome, just like the other stories in the BPI series. Roth has another winner on her hands. Cambridge and Cassie are two strong characters who find each other in the unlikeliest of places. Cassie grew up with hate filled purist who are calling for the genocide of supernaturals, but she wants nothing to do with this evil and cruel people. She makes it her mission to alert anyone who can help of the dastardly plans her fiendish stepfather has in store. On her mission she runs into the one person who will irrecoverably change her life. Cambridge never thought that he would ever find his mate but he literally walks into her and she saves his life and the lives of many others. Their connection is combustible, and spicy. I loved these characters together. I wish the story was longer. This story was fun, sexy, and very well written.

Monster Needs Your Vote Book Review

http://www.examiner.com/review/monster-needs-your-vote-book-review?cid=db_articles

In this current political season with the multitude of candidates vying for votes and trying to make political gains, it can be a complex and taxing time figuring out who should get your vote. A lot is at stake and your vote can be the determining factor in dictating how some parts of society is run. "Monster Needs Your Vote" by Paul Czajak and illustrated by Wendy Grieb is the perfect book about politics and moral causes. Czajak weaves an encouraging and fun tale that will teach children about the voting process and the importance of making their voice heard.

Using rhyme Czajak delivers an important message about standing up for what you believe in. Monster was a dedicated candidate who didn't want to let the citizens of America down. He found a issue that was significant to everyone and fought to get his voice heard. Education is a cause that is undeniably pertinent to society, so Monster ran his campaign of protecting and enhancing education and educational resources like libraries. Even when obstacles tried to stop him he didn't get discouraged, he knew that what he was fighting for was worth being persistent and rallying forward.

I truly enjoyed this story, and monster would definitely get my vote. With beautifully written prose and illustrations that were rich and striking, Monster wormed his way into my heart. I found his courage and strength to fight for what he believed in to be empowering, smart and refreshing. This book is definitely a winner and it is ideal to teach young children about politics, democracy, and taking a stand for what you believe in. Monster took a stand in a mighty way and this book will definitely engage your children in politics in a cute and fun way.

Rumor Has It by Elisabeth Grace -- All publicity is good publicity, right? Unless you’re recent college grad Ellie Wagner and an embarrassing video of you and your ex-boyfriend goes viral. Especially when you fall – literally – at the feet of a sexy, green-eyed stranger who offers you freedom and a life of luxury on a gold-rimmed platter. There’s only one little problem – the man of your dreams is none other than Mason Nash, the latest hip-hop star busting up the music charts.

Rocked by Cari Quinn -- Love definitely wasn't on the setlist. Opening for their idols on their first tour, Oblivion is living the dream. Mostly. Frustrated at being shoved out of his mediator role by their new manager, Deacon McCoy loses himself in brutal workouts. He only comes up for air long enough to refuel—and to tease the deliciously cute chef.

Lost in Us by Layla Hagen -- After a painful breakup, Serena figures the best cure for a broken heart is a fling. And she has just that with commitment-phobic James, a wealthy entrepreneur. But as their attraction becomes something more, will their tragic pasts destroy their chance at
happiness?

Dark Velvet by Lisa Carlisle -- Savannah is thrilled for her residency at an art colony where she meets the sculptor Antoine. Antoine proposes they become lovers during her stay. But the situation turns complicated when Savannah discovers his secret. She had suspicions about his identity, but finds the truth overwhelming.

The Shortstop by AM Madden -- Quint Lawson had two passions, his childhood sweetheart and baseball. From kindergarten to college, Quint tore up every baseball diamond he played on. His position was shortstop. His talent was undeniable. Professional ball was most definitely in his future, and he was ready for it. Annie Weber would be right by his side.

Push the Envelope by Rochelle Paige -- Alexa is just your average college junior, attending classes and piloting Mile High Club charter flights. Boys haven't been on her radar for a couple years after a disastrous breakup with her high school sweetheart. Drake transferred to Blythe College for the rugby team, not for a new assortment of college girls. When he meets Alexa, Drake knows he's met his match.

Bullet by Jade C. Jamison -- What if you discover the man you want is toxic? Valerie Quinn is a naive college freshman when she meets on-the-rise rock star Ethan Richards. He’s an idealistic, handsome, reckless young man, but he’s captured her heart. She doesn’t give up on him and eventually his walls crumble down. By the time Valerie has given herself to him completely, she discovers he’s damaged and may be beyond help.

Loving Lies by Renee Field -- Blake Samson is a man driven to succeed. Alyssa Papadopoulos is running from her wealthy father. They come from different worlds but a summer fling turns causes their worlds to come crashing down. Will two people lying about their past give themselves permission to love?

Under My Skin by Delia Foster -- Law student Liz Connor is a crazy bombshell with a smart mouth and a penchant for trouble. Mark Daniels is a built, sexy cop who also happens to be her childhood enemy. When their paths cross years later, the chemistry between them is instant and explosive. Once again they manage to get under each other's skin, but this time, it's in a very different way.

Scarred by Marie Long -- Sometimes, love comes with a price … The past is always gonna try and bring you down, but you gotta fight. Fight hard for what you love. Fight to win is what twenty-two-year-old Dominick Anderson believes, but his life is a struggle.

Prince of Flight Book Review

This review is for Prince of Flight by Mandy Roth:

Keonae and Lark's love story was thrilling, sexy, and emotional. Roth has spun a rich tale of finding love in the midst of trials. Keonae and Lark both were scarred because of their past, one mentally the other physically, despite that they're willing to put it all on the line for the one person who sees the best in them. They both don't think that their good for each other but their attraction is combustible. Being a bird shifter Keonae is exactly what Lark is afraid nevertheless they're willing to overcome their fears for a love like they've never experienced. This series keeps getting better.

Ambient Light Book Review

Ambient Light is a awesome story about Yates and Kelly two individuals brought together by a irresistible attraction. Their attraction is combustible up until they find out that one of them is a vampire and the other a shifter. Despite their differences they're exactly what each other were longing for. I enjoyed this story thoroughly, another great read from Roth.

The Ugly Dumpling book review

http://www.examiner.com/review/the-ugly-dumpling-book-review

"The Ugly Dumpling" written by Stephanie Campisi and illustrated by Shahar Kober is a wonderful book that retells the story of The Ugly Duckling. Being left alone and uneaten like his fellow dumplings, the ugly dumpling feels out of sorts and miserable. When a spirited cockroach shows the dumpling how amazing life can be the ugly dumpling realizes that there is beauty all around him. I fell in love with this story from the first page, Campisi's prose ensnared me and Kober's illustrations wrapped me up in a blanket of whimsy and vibrant delight. This book was charming and fun, seeing the restaurant from the eyes of the ugly dumpling and the cockroach was so fresh and added the perfect amount of adventure to the story. Kober was able to portray ideally what the story was all about, from the expressions on the face of the dumplings, the restaurant patrons, to the authentic restaurant scenery.

What also makes this book fantastic is the message that so beautifully comes across through the pages. It's hard being different, the ugly dumpling shows you that everyone is beautiful in their own right and diversity should be embraced. This story encourages being a loving person, self-love and loving others despite their differences and the peer pressure that you may be facing. I find this message to be so important and relevant to today's society. This book would be a great addition to any classroom and school library. I think that the early childhood age group will highly enjoy this book. This sweet story can be used in themes on fairy tales, diversity, bullying, Chinese New Year, emotions, and for both language arts and social studies. I highly recommend this story which will be available on April 7, 2016 from Mighty Media Kids.

Damage Report Review

5 stars for Damage Report, Mandy Roth has delivered another stellar book. Every time I read a book in this series I fall more in love with it. Weston a bear shifter has been through as lot now all he wants is to take care of his basic needs. When he good buddy Casey tells him he needs to find his mate because she was in trouble Weston never thinks he's find her trapped in a sex club. Paisley was in for more than she bargained for when she set off to find her missing friend and winds up meeting Weston her mate. They are both in for a tumultuous and thrilling ride, as they fight for their relationship and to save their friends. I loved Weston and Paisley's story, though they are so different they're perfect together. I look forward to more from Roth and this series.

Executive Decision Book Review

Oh my gosh this book was fantastic, scandalous, and spicy. I loved this story about Liz and Dale two best friends with more than friendship brewing between them. Liz has been burned in the past so she has problems committing to one man, now she is having an affair with her boss and this is the final straw for Dale. Dale has been wanting more from Liz for a long time now he just isn't sure if taking the chance is worth their friendship but finding out that Liz and their boss is together is the catalyst that propels him to risk it all for the one woman he can't resist. I loved this story, the more I read from Roth the better she gets. She is hands down one of the best romance writers out there, this book proves it.

Dance of Souls Book Review

Short, sexy, action packed, and fun. I enjoyed this book thoroughly. I found the concept of the ghost cats to be intriguing. Mason Blackwolf found himself drawn to stop at this bar on his way home, he didn't know why he felt this pull to this place, but when Chandra walks in everything changes for him. He is inexplicably attracted to her and feels a connection that could be life changing. Chandra feels the same way about the mysterious man in the bar. But what they both will soon realize is their attraction is deeper than they both could have ever realized. This was a awesome read, I just wish that there wasn't such a gap from the last page to the epilogue, I felt like I was missing information.

Act of Submission Book Review

Out for revenge Haven seeks to kill all who are responsible for the death of her twin brother Harper, especially Psi-Op Boomer. She has heard a lot of horrific details about the psi-operatives and how they operate but she is willing to sacrifice it all in her brother's honor. Haven gets a rude awakening when she realizes that things aren't as they seem and now instead of fighting to the death she is fighting an attraction to the very man she sought to kill. This book was awesome from the very first page. Boomer has a very dark past and it has left him with a wall around his emotions and around his body, but when he sees Haven all of that seems to disappear. I loved this book, it was a excellent read just like the other books in this series. Haven and Boomer are perfect for each other, despite him being a cat shifter and her being part vampire. Nothing better stand in their way of being with each other, not even the ones who mean the most to them. I eagerly await more books in this series, Roth has another winner on her hands. I would highly recommend it.

Warriors of Darkness Book Review

This book was so very good. I loved the characters of Deryn and Alejandro. i found myself unwilling to put the book down once I started it, I read the whole book in one sitting. Action packed, sexy and incredibly well written Roth has done it again. I found the whole cast of characters to be very interesting, I would love to learn more about the supporting characters. This love story was rich and complex. Despite being natural enemies Alejandro and Deryn couldn't resist each other. Their passion was fierce and they were going to fight to be together despite the odds against them, even against the enemies that they couldn't see. Deryn and Alejandro's lives were more entwined then they could ever know, their connection going back to before her birth. They had a love that was meant to be and this was a awesome story.

If an Elephant Went to School Book Review

 http://www.examiner.com/review/if-an-elephant-went-to-school-book-review?cid=db_articles

"If an Elephant went to School" by Ellen Fischer and illustrated by Laura Wood is a thoughtful story about animals and how they conduct themselves in school. With beautiful and vibrant illustrations Fischer weaves a cute story about how animals would behave if they went to school. Animals wouldn't react the way humans would because they are unable to, so instead of writing, counting, and reading they would learn to do things that are important in their lives. This awesomely written book grasps your attention from the very first page. It offers children the opportunity to really think about the animals mentioned and their characteristics. Children will have to be metacognitive throughout the whole reading of this book, constantly questioning and thinking about classroom and animal behaviors, and predicting what will come next in the story.

I find this book to be fun and educational, as the children read they will be learning about the qualities of different animals, like elephants, skunks, and even eels. Each page offers a whimsical and informative look into the question of these animals going to school. If the gorgeous illustrations doesn't make you want to pick this book up the undeniably witty and smart words will. Early childhood students will thoroughly enjoy this story and I think it will be a favorite read-aloud. This book also would be a great accompaniment to themes on animals. I would use this book as a model for the children to create stories in the same style, this would be a fun activity which can culminate in a trip to the zoo where the kids can see these animals up close and personal. I would highly recommend this story for the early childhood age group, I think it will quickly become a new favorite. This book will be available on August 11th.

Aland will do whatever he can to claim and protect her. That is if he can get Sidney to trust him and overcome her fears of his people. Secret Affair Book Review

This was a really good short story. I found Will and Diana to be very interesting characters, I wanted to know more about them. They're both stuck in loveless marriages where they feel trapped. Drawn together because of similar circumstances they can't resist the temptation of each other. I look forward to reading more from this series, I think it is going to be awesome. Pisces Phenomenon Book Review

Sexy, action packed, and original, "Pisces Phenomenon" is a winner. Roth has done it again, she gets better and better with each book of hers I read and this book does not disappoint. This story has everything I want in a paranormal romance, I didn't want to stop reading, a yummy male hero and a feisty heroine that are combustible together. I look forward to reading more of the Zodiac Gatekeepers series.

Mating Behavior Book Review

This is a great story about unrequited love, friendship, and secrets. Alan and Katie were best friends whose feelings for each other were as great as the secrets they kept. Alan a wolf shifter is forbidden to tel his secret to anyone even his closest friend Katie who just so happens to be a witch. Katie is also forbidden to tell anyone she's a witch. But what these two don't realize is the truth always comes to light even when we don't want it to. That wasn't so bad for Alan and Katie who struggled to resist their feelings for each other. It was a great story, I wish their was more.

Crazy For You Book Review

This was a great book. Not only was it incredibly well written, it was sexy, fun, and heart wrenching. I was engrossed into Meredith and Landry from the beginning. Quirky and eccentric Meredith is misunderstood, in her small town she is used to be considered weird. Now with her back home she is looking for a fresh start and to stay away from overbearing men, that is until she meets Landry. Landry not only gets her kind of crazy but he makes her feel like never before, now if he can get over his being off of women. Through many obstacles that become stumbling blocks in their way Meredith and Landry can't fight be crazy for each other, can love really conquer all or will circumstances prevail. Two thumbs up for Kennedy Kovit.

My grandma's a ninja book review

http://www.examiner.com/review/my-grandma-s-a-ninja-book-review?cid=db_articles

"My Grandma's a Ninja" by Todd Tarpley and illustrated by Danny Chatzikonstantinou is a awesome book about a little boy named Ethan who has a grandma who is a ninja. One would think this is the coolest thing ever. She is the perfect person to teach you and your friends karate, how to move stealthily, and secret ninja tricks. When your grandma is a ninja all the other kids will love and admire you and popularity will abound. That is until being a ninja goes awry.

The illustrations were rich, soft, and beautiful. They definitely will draw readers in from the start. I found that they added a touch of whimsy to the pages, what could have been dark due to the fighting element was very fun looking. The drawings were so cute, I found myself eager to see what would show up next. This is an element that I believe children will adore.

This was a cute book. I would highly recommend it to other early childhood readers and teachers. Fun, action packed, and emotion filled. Having a Ninja for a grandma can be fun, but not all the time. Ethan quickly finds that out. Great lessons this book teaches on appreciating what you have even if it isn't normal. I found this book to be very well written and enjoyable. I think it will fast become a favorite with young readers.

Rise of the King Book Review

This one was so good. I think that it is the best one in the Bird Shifter Series yet. Lazar and Sabrina are so perfect for each other. Sheltered and protected by her uncle Gardelle, who she doesn't even know is a bird shifter, Sabrina keeps dreaming of flying. She is in for a pleasant awakening when she falls and is rescued by the literal man of her dreams. Lazar is more than ready to be everything she wants and more, if only he can convince her and Gardelle of that. Will they be able to fight for their love and rise to throne, read this juicy tale to see. Roth definitely hit out of the park with this one. Spicy, fun, and action packed.

A King's Ransom Book Review

I loved this story. It was deep and complex, there were a lot of issues and emotional zones touched upon. I found Kritan and Surina to be well developed characters, who knew their minds and what they wanted for their lives. Despite their troubled circumstances they were able to stand strong and fight for their relationship and their love. Both of them held such heavy burdens but they didn't let it stop them from igniting their passion filled connection. Though the odds were against them, with the help of Surina's bodyguard and friend Rawlin they were able to blossom a love that would help them all.

Solo Tu Book Review

This was a awesome novella. Dante and Francy have a great love story. Though circumstances were against them Dante was unwilling to give up his fight to reunite with Francy and claim his mate. What he doesn't know is that she already belongs to another. I love that he was unwilling to lose the love of his life and he would fight to keep her no matter what. Francy loved Dante her whole life but when he sent her away she couldn't resist the connection and pull that he had on her heart. Great story from beginning to end.

Pike's Peak Book Review

I found this to be a very interesting read. I thought the world that Roth created for the the league was awesome. I wish that it was longer. I found the characters to be fascinating and I am eager to read more about them, especially Pike and Adira. For many years Pike and Adira longed for each other, but stayed apart due to age and obligation. With Adira coming into her own, nothing could keep them apart. This book was hot, creative, and very well written. I think this series would make a fantastic movie.

Valhalla Book Review

So much goes on in this book, Roth covers a lot of territory and really delves into who the characters are in her Valkyrie series. We get to see who Valerie/Linnea was before book one. I found the whole book to be fascinating, they travel the world and through several different time periods, which was awesome. You also go to see who the men in Valerie's life were and how and why the came to be with her. This book was emotional, happy, sad, sexy, and  heart wrenching. I enjoyed i thoroughly and look forward to more from this amazing series.

Goddess of the Grove Book Review

I loved Korey and GiGi's story. They each tried to resist their attraction for each other but when circumstances call for them to get past their reservations and be a united pair, they come together and it is electric, sweet, and sexy. I truly enjoyed seeing how their connection originated before they were even aware of it. This book in the druid series was incredibly well written and I didn't want it to end. I found Korey to be fun, smart, and hot, and GiGi was his perfect counterpart. The O'Caha men are great heroes and I look forward to reading more in this series.

Seaver the Weaver Book Review

http://www.examiner.com/review/seaver-the-weaver-by-paul-czajak-book-review

After having read "The Insomniacs" a book that the Brothers Hilts previously  illustrated, I eagerly awaited their next illustrated venture "Seaver the Weaver" by Paul Csjasak. I am definitely not  disappointed. Both beautifully written by  Csjasak and illustrated by the Brothers Hilts, I was to put it down. From the beginning I was drawn in by the richness of color and poignant sentences that spun a story of  whimsy and creative artistry. In a very concise way Csjasak is able to evoke imagery that will make you feel as if you are in Seaver's world. You want to know more about this fascinating little spider, as dig deeper into the story. The darkness of the drawings keep your eyes fastened to each page, though few colors are exhibited on each page the richness and saturation of each illustration makes them dynamic.

Seaver the Weaver and his family are orb weavers, they make webs that are circle shaped. This is what they are familiar with, when Seaver starts making webs that have a shape that deviates from their normal, they try to get him to conform and tamp down his offbeat style. Nevertheless Seaver is inspired by what he sees in the sky at night, he follows his heart even though it's not tradition. Despite their contrariness, they realize that Seaver may be on to something good. He is well fed and his creations are beautiful even though it's not what they are used to. I love that Seaver was extraordinary, he was artsy and created his webs by the stars. Seaver loved his webs and felt good making them, he didn't let his siblings negativity damper his spirits or creativity. Seaver is a strong character and this story will become a all-time favorite. Czajak and the Brothers Hilts definitely scored a touchdown with this book.

This is a awesome story of inspiration and individuality for the early childhood sector. Kids will find Seaver and his webs to be fascinating. This book would be the perfect accompaniment to a theme on spiders. Lessons on spiders and how they make webs would be a great introduction to this book. Art projects would be a fun way to integrate the book in different ways. I would have my students make webs based on what inspires them, this would be a ideal way to express their uniqueness like Seaver. I also would love each student to create their own spiders, using different mediums and materials. This would truly evoke the message of everyone being different and how our differences make us special. I eagerly await more from this amazing author, illustration team, and Might Media Kids publishers.

Act of Surrender Book Review

Loved it, loved it, loved it. James and Laney have a awesome love story. Two people who feel that they are unlovable find love in an unlikely place. Hagen has a tortured past that his left him both mentally and physically wounded. While Laney feels like a social outcast who is harboring some secrets of her own. Nevertheless, they can't resist each other. They both have exactly what the other needs. I truly enjoyed reading this story, especially the first date. it was action packed, sexy, and fun. The attraction was combustible, the emotion was real, and their connection was undeniable. I a eager to read more from this series.
