Sacred Places Book Review

I completely loved this novella. Though it was short it was written so well I barely noticed. The characters were rich and the plot had depth, I thought the story was unique and I didn't want to put it down. I found Coyle and Deri to be awesome characters. I loved their opening scene together where their attraction was so strong and they had to fight so hard to resist each other. I am eager to read more of this series. I loved how Deri was being treated so poorly and bullied and she winds of being mated to someone from the High Council and he squashes her ex-boyfriend like a bug. Deri and Coyle were good for each other and a great match.

The Valkyrie Book Review

Valerie doesn't remember who she was before her accident. But who she was is pretty fascinating. Strange things are happening to Valerie. All she wants is to lead a normal life, but she isn't even sure if she is normal. I loved this story, it was fresh and very well written. The only part I didn't like was the death of Payton, I was sad that he had to die. I look forward to finding out more about Valerie and he relationship with Lucha. I think he is intriguing, and their relationship will be fun to watch unfold.

Broken Communication (Immortal Outcasts) Book Review

I absolutely loved Casey and Harmony's story. Their connection was evident throughout the book. Like a lot of romances they love each other from the far, they haven't told one another. When Harmony gets kidnapped Casey can't fight his feelings for her anymore. He is going to fight for his mate, and take down whoever took her. Casey's major problem is will Harmony want a wolf shifter who struggles with his inner animal. Unbeknownst to him Harmony already wants him. I love how they come together, with the help of some smart, quirky, and unlikely characters. This was a great read. I would definitely recommend it.

Paranormal Payload Review

Ooh this was so good. Sevan and Lorelie had intense spicy dreams of the perfect lover, the man and woman each of them have longed for, not knowing that the other was real. This was a very well written and interesting story. I loved how it started with both of them, wishing that their dream person could be found but feeling discouraged. Despite that things had a way of working themselves out, they met and the attraction was instant. Their dreams came true, which I was excited about. Sevan and Lorelei's connection was so strong they were willing to fight for each other even though circumstances suggested that they should be apart. I would recommend this book and I look forward to reading more from this series.

Act of Mercy Book Review

This book was really good. I found the story concept to be interesting and fresh. I really liked the idea of shifters who are operatives. This was a real page turner, once I got engrossed in the book I didn't want to put it down. I found Duke and Mercy to be fascinating characters, who were even more interesting once they met. I liked that Mercy was such a strong woman, even with the cards stacked against she would do what she felt was right even to her own peril. Smart, strong, and sassy she is the perfect mate for Duke. Duke is no nonsense, strong, tough, with a quick wit, he supports his brothers in arms even when they annoy him which is often. Even though Duke and Mercy were opposites they were perfect for each other, loyal, and they loved hard. I look forward to more from the Psi-ops series.

The Pandas and their Chopsticks and Other Animal Stories Review

http://www.examiner.com/review/the-pandas-and-their-chopsticks-and-other-animal-stories-book-review

"The Pandas and their Chopsticks and Other Animal Stories" by Demi is a truly beautiful book, both in illustration and in story. I loved how rich and bold the illustrations were, they drew me in right from the beginning. I was more and more intrigued as I read each page. I also found the page boarders to be a great addition they gave a awesome depiction of what each tale was going to be about. I loved how each story was short but they were packed full of meaning and morals. This book would be an ideal addition to any classroom or home library for your children. This book would also be perfect for a interactive read along. Each story is bursting with questions to ask children about what they think will happen next, questions about the illustrations, how they would react in those situations, what they would do differently, and more. This also would be a great opportunity for teachers to have their students write their own stories using one of the morals they learned, I think it would be a fun and challenging activity.

I would definitely recommend this book for young and older readers. There are lessons to be learned in it that can benefit people of all ages. I love that this book continually has you thinking and meditating on your own life. It will be a great tool for any classroom or children's library. I think this book will be a classic and read continuously. I didn't want to put it down myself, and I will definitely share it with others.

Parker's Honor Book Review

I really liked this story. I loved how quickly Parker was fascinated with Lynn, not even knowing who she was at first. The connection between their families was a great addition to Lynn's back story, it gave her character more depth. I think Parker and Lynn were perfect for each other, both of them with their medical skills and strong wills. This book had a bit of fun in it which lightened up the story. Sexy, fun, thrilling, and warm this was undoubtedly a great read. I look forward to more of the McSweeneys.

Shadow Heart Book Review

I found this book to be incredibly well written. I was absorbed into this series from the start. Nicky and Ryan were amazing characters that fully engulfed me into their stories and had me invested. I loved the thought of Ryan once a playboy athlete wanting to change his ways for a real love something lasting. I also liked how strong Nicky was, despite her past she was a smart, put together young woman who knew what she wanted in life.  I found it great that Ryan fought to pursue her despite the obstacles against them, he wanted her in his life and he would do what he could to achieve that. I look forward to more from this series.

Prince of Pleasure Book Review

I found "Prince of Pleasure" to be a great story. I was bummed that it was so short, I wanted to see more of Lucy and Rossi's story. I thought it was written very well, I have enjoyed this series tremendously. I am now a huge fan of bird shifters. I find Rossi and his people to be fascinating. I loved that Rossi and Lucy met in the past and they were reunited. Lucy met him when she was so young but she found him beautiful and princely even as a child, as an adult her feelings were amplified. Lucy was able to get her Prince Charming despite all of the naysayers. Rossi was so resistant to love and a mate but he couldn't resist Lucy. I think they're a great match.

Hunted Holiday Review

I really loved this book, Cornell and Dani were very likable characters. I found their efforts to resist the temptation of each other to be cute. It was funny how they were both fantasizing about each other not having the slightest inkling that the attraction was mutual. A slayer and a vampire together, I loved it. I thought it was so cute that Cornell couldn't fight being close to Dani so her built his house next door, and they both watched each other. All in all great story, I would love to see more of Finn.

King of Prey Book Review

This book was awesome. I love the idea of bird shifters. I found the story to be and the realm in which Kabril lived to be fascinating. This book was incredibly well written, the characters were highly likable. Kabril, Sachin, and Rayna I felt were perfect for this story world. Kabril had just the right amount of arrogance and regality to him. While Sachin was the perfect best friend and adviser, he kept Kabril on his toes and made sure he took care of his responsibilities. I look forward to reading Sachin's story. Rayna was a strong heroine, she knew what she wanted and how she felt about things and she didn't let the king run over her. I fully enjoyed their love story. It was hot, thrilling, emotional, and quite fun. Especially, with Kabril's way of speaking and their aversion to chicken.

Loup Garou Book Review

Oh, I so loved this novel. Roth has done it again, she has written an action packed, fun, sexy, and emotion filled story that readers won't want to put down. Not only did I adore the characters but I found the storyline to be thrilling and spicy. This unique shifter romance definitely left me eager for more from the protagonists and supporting characters. I found Lindsay and Exavier's relationship to be so special, despite being apart for so many years and falling in love at such a young age, their love stood the test. They both endured so much but they were willing to give their love a chance. I eagerly await more from this series.

The Guardians Book Review

I loved this story, I can't say enough about how awesome it was to read. Not only was it well written but the story was fresh, sexy, thrilling, and heart tugging. I need more, there has to be more books for the other characters. Every character was likable which was refreshing. All together it was one of the best paranormal romances I have read. Madelyn and Brady started out as friends or so she thought. Their love story began before she was even born, they were mates meant for each other. Their love was destined and their story was heart-warmingly fantastic. Nevertheless I did want to punch Brady a few times for doubting his bestie/mate, he has known her forever he should have known better she wouldn't cheat on him. This book made me smile, cringe, and even sigh (good sighs) so many times. I highly recommend it, and I really hope Ms. Roth gives us more of these characters.

Tipping the Scales: Stop Dragon My Heart Around Book Review

"Tipping the Scales" by Mandy Roth was a awesome read. Rousing, hot, cute, and fun. I didn't want to put this story down. Zarek and Keren were to strong characters that were very likable. I enjoyed how spunky Keren was, both witty and a fighter she gave back as good she got. Keren is the perfect counterpart to Zarek, their attraction sizzled on the pages. Despite Keren being a slayer and Zarek being a dragon shifter, they willingly overlooked years of being adversaries to fight for what they could have. I greedily absorbed their story and wanted to read more. This book was very well written, I look forward to reading more from this series.

Blaze of Glory: Prospect Springs Shifters Book Review

This book was everything I hoped it would be. Sexy, fun, sweet, a little bit of action, and very well written. I was sad when it was over because I wanted to read more. Roth has a winner on her hands with the Prospect Springs Shifters Series. I found the concept of the New Old West to be fresh especially coupled with the paranormal. I didn't expect to find other supernaturals in a shifter series set in the Old West but I was very pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed both Jonathan and Molly, they were both very strong protagonists that complimented each other perfectly. Their love story was one of reconciliation and triumph over past trials and tribulations. I liked that they were able to rekindle their love even though they didn't part on the best terms. Jonathan was willing to do whatever he had to to make Molly his mate, he never forgot how much she meant to him and he wanted her to be a permanent fixture in his life. Molly was equally protective of Jonathan, she loved him and she had his back. I also enjoyed that Molly wasn't a damsel in distress she was a gun toting special marshal who could definitely hold her own, a great counterpart to her furry and clawed love interest. I look forward to reading the stories of the other characters this book was awesome.

Possess: A Shamed Novel Book Review

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was the perfect conclusion to "Control". This book is suspenseful, sweet, hot, and emotional. Ella and Liam faced many struggles but despite that, they were willing to fight for their relationship and for their love. They experienced lost, pain, betrayal, and fear but for each other they would stand against any foe, including their friends and families. I didn't want to put this book down, it would make an awesome movie. Altom has a winner with this series. I highly recommend it.

Freed: Club Sin Book Review

I completely enjoyed this book. Not only was it very well written it was fun, sexy, and emotional. I didn't want to put it down once I started reading. I really felt for Mary, she was going through such a difficult time getting pass the grief of losing her husband/dom. She didn't want to open herself up to the possibility of loving again or even entertaining the idea of having another man dominate her. I found Elliot to be fascinating, I loved how he craved Mary and didn't want to give up on her. He wanted to be everything that she needed, despite her reservations.  This book was orchestrated beautifully, Stacey Kennedy is a master in her genre.

Draw Me In Book Review

"Draw Me In" was such an awesome read. I was intrigued by the storyline from the start and the book got better and better as each page went by. I loved the characters of Hailey and Neill, they had such depth and you wanted to get to know them as you read about their lives. They were very relatable characters. I found their willingness to try their hand at a relationship despite their family histories to be great. They each were dealing with their own issues and strife but they got past it to find happiness and love. I would highly recommend this book. I didn't want to put it down. Fun, sexy, thrilling, and emotional this book has everything a romance lover wants.

This book was great, chock full of suspense, drama, love, and fashion, it was a sexy good time. I didn't want to put it down when I started reading it. The Club Inferno books are getting better and better. I am glad Anya got her happy ending she was a character that I enjoyed in the previous stories. I rooted for Clint and Anya, I enjoyed that they fought for each other and what they had, especially when obstacles got in the way.

Horses 101: Super Fun Facts and Amazing Pictures Book review

http://www.examiner.com/review/horses-101-super-fun-facts-and-amazing-pictures-by-janet-evans-book-review

"Horses: 101 Super Fun Facts and Amazing Pictures" by Janet Evans is a picture book about horses of all varieties. This book is full of information and facts about horses of all different breeds. Each breed had their own page where a beautiful picture of the breed is present along with characteristics and qualities of each breed. I found the book to be well-written and highly organized. I think that children will thoroughly enjoy this book and learning about these various horses. I learned a lot about horses myself, I didn't know their were so many breeds each with their own distinctive traits.

This book would be ideal for a classroom. As a book for children to pick up during independent reading and as a tool during science lessons on animals, horses in particular. Children will find it easy and fun to read. The numbered points also add a great quality to this book, it makes it easier to follow and absorb the important info. Teachers will also find this book to be helpful and a great resource for projects and lessons on horses. The children will be able to easily take the information from this book and use it in their art and science work, the details on each breed are very clear.

I would definitely recommend this book to others, especially for a school or classroom library.

The Millionaire Affair book review

I found this book to be awesome from beginning to end. The characters and plot were rich. Despite Landon and Kimber's reservations about falling in love they couldn't help but to fall in love with each other. They were exactly what the other needed. This book was fun, sexy, and heart warming. This book was also very well written, I am eager to read more books in the series especially if the characters are as great as Landon and Kimber.

'Supreme Sandwich Recipes' Book Review

This book is great. I think it is ideal for those looking for meal ideas that won't take you all day to prepare. I found the recipes to be awesome, they look very appetizing and I am eager to try them out. There are some great sandwiches that I never heard of and some favorites that have a cool new twist that would be fun to try. The only thing missing from the book is pictures of some of the sandwiches, I think that it would make readers want the book even more, the pictures of the yummy sandwiches would draw you in. This recipe book was well-written and I will definitely recommend and share it with family and friends. The more I read the hungrier I got.

One Night: Promised Book Review

This book was epic. It was incredibly well written and I couldn't delve into it fast enough. The story is so meaty and thorough, Malpas has a way of making you want to know the characters. I had high expectations after the This Man trilogy and she did not disappoint. I was left eagerly awaiting the next installment so I could see how things play out. I found Livy and Miller to be strong and intense characters, they both have had tumultuous pasts and they have marked who they presently are both as a couple and as individuals. Livy has created this sheltered world for herself so she won't result to her old lifestyle but what she is really doing is preventing herself from living fully. Miller on the other hand lives a life of obsessive cleanliness and secrecy. He hides what he does and who he is. It makes for a fragile, passionate, and tremulous relationship between him and Livy. I would highly recommend this book, you will not be disappointed.

Control by Laura Marie Altom book review

Emotional, passionate, and conflicting. I truly enjoyed reading this story, I found that it evoked an emotional response from you that made you feel connected to the characters. I think that Liam and Ella were so damaged but together they seemed to make each other better more complete. Their emotional roller coaster was an intense ride, nevertheless, I found myself rooting for them to be together. I eagerly await the next part of the story.

Dark Wolf by Kate Douglas book review

This book was emotionally charged, sexy, intense, and action packed. I really loved the previous Wolf Tales series and this series has proven to be equally as awesome and well-written. Douglas definitely knows how to pull on your heart strings and give you a passion filled story that you won't want to put down. She skillfully bridges the gap from the last chanku tale to the new generation, I was very excited to see how the characters grew and I was not disappointed. I found Lily and Sebastian to be very likable characters. I wanted their love to triumph over the obstacles in their way. I also loved how they both fought for what they wanted, Sebastian even against his own father. I enjoyed seeing the chanku come together to fight their adversary, they always have each others back no matter what, it's refreshing. I highly recommend this book it is everything that is awesome.

The Space Between book review

I absolutely loved this book. It had everything I could want in a romance novel. I'm also in love with the characters, Jeric and Leni are completely captivating. I found myself eager for more of their story as I got deeper into the book. They're incredibly strong individuals and they're even stronger together. Their love story is heart warming and agonizing. When they made mistakes I found myself rooting for them to get back on their feet and try again, try harder. I would definitely recommend this book, I am eager to read the next books in the series. The concept was unique and fresh. I also loved the action thrown in there. An awesome read from start to finish.

Don't Judge a Lizard by His Scales book review

This was a great book. From the first page the illustrations were bright, bold, and eye catching. I found them to be cute and fun. I was drawn into the story from the first page. I wanted to read more, as I got deeper into the message. I love the way the important ideals and principles were relayed. Children will have no problem relating to this book and absorbing the significant moral of this story. I found this book to be perfect for a lesson on friendship, kindness, and judging st face value. I would highly recommend this story for young learners.

Shira by Tressie Lockwood

I truly enjoyed reading this book. I found it to be sexy, emotional, and thrilling. Shira was a strong character despite her abusive past she fought to get better for herself. She escaped and sought help from her friend Whisper, and she meets Max instead. Even though she was scarred and terrified of her ex-boyfriend she stood up to him. Shira didn't shut down and close her heart off, from the moment she met Max she was drawn to him. Likewise, Max felt connected to Shira even though he didn't want to be. Their connection was undeniable, and it grew to become an unbreakable bond and a strong love. I liked how Shira loved Max's leopard first, not realizing it was Max. I would definitely recommend this book and Tressie Lockwood as an author.

Arctic Winds Book Review

This was a great story, the perfect foundation and introduction to the Alpine Woods shifters. The book was very well-written despite it being short. I enjoyed learning about the characters and the dynamics of the pack. Reading this story left me wanting more, I want to delve deeper into the lives of the pack members. I loved Jason and Samantha together, they balanced each other out. They also made each other better people. Watching them overcome the obstacles in their relationship was satisfying. I rooted for them to come out stronger and they did. I look forward to more from the Alpine Woods Shifters.

The Masseuse Book Review

I loved LOVED this book. Steamy, suspenseful, and thrilling all while being incredibly well written. I didn't want to put this book down. Dubrinsky wove a intriguing tale of love, passion, and suspense. Jezebel and Ramsey were great characters, the more I read I found myself wanting to know more about them, I wanted to see what made them tick. I enjoyed that Jezebel was so strong, smart, and savvy she didn't take nonsense from anyone. Ramsey has to fight his way into her life, and when they finally get together they're explosive. They're so perfect for each other but Ramsey's life keeps throwing a wrench into their relationship. Will their love be able to conquer their trust issues, sense of betrayal, and familial obligations? I look forward to seeing what's on the other side of the cliffhanger. I highly recommend this book, it is awesome till the end.

Honey Bee's Adventures at Wilderness Pond

Beautifully illustrated and wonderfully written "Honey Bee's Adventures at Wilderness Pond" by Cathryn Carman Davis is a delightful story that your children will love. With boldly colored illustrations Davis tells the story of a young honey bee who thirsts for adventure. What the honey bee didn't expect was the dangers that can be found in the wilderness. The honey bee encounters different animals and insects like, a lizard; a spider; and a dragonfly; that put her in perilous situations, she starts off with a negative attitude and learns some valuable lessons about responsibility and being respectful and kind.

Using rhyme, Davis tells a enriching story that teaches important life lessons. The Honeybee has an encounter with the King Frog that irrevocably changes her heart and the way she treats others. If the King Frog wasn't willing to let bygones be bygones the Honeybee wouldn't have survived her adventure to the Wilderness Pond. Children will learn the importance of forgiveness, being nice, and being responsible. I highly recommend this book. It will also be a great addition to any classroom library. There are a plethora of lessons plans that can stem from this book in every subject area. Teachers can even use this book as a play, children can dress up as the animals and insects and act out the scenes. The importance of the message would shine through with the story being acted out, I think kids will love it. This is an awesome book for early readers but has great lessons for older readers as well. Davis truly has a winner on her hands with this book.

Heat: Club Inferno Book Review

With Jamie K. Schmidt's Heat you find everything you could possibly want it a romance. This book runs the gamut of hot and sexy scenes to emotional and heart felt moments that leave readers wanting more. From the moment I started reading I was ensnared into the lives of these well-developed characters. I enjoyed that the plot and the characters were meaty and had depth, this story wasn't just erotic it really showed the people that they were. Mallory and Max were perfect for each other, I truly adored both characters. Despite the trials they had to endure they both fought and stayed strong. They were there for each other when they needed it most, even though obstacles were thrown in their way. I loved that they didn't care what people thought about them being together, they were going to stay with each whatever the consequences. I love their love story. I am eager to read more from this series.

In Lea Griffith’s Loveswept debut, a novel that’s perfect for erotic romance readers, two lovers who have shared exquisite pain and unforgettable bliss find solace back in each other’s arms.

Jeremiah Copeland and Daly Edwards have a history. Even though he grew up a criminal struggling to care for two younger siblings, and she’s the pampered daughter of a power-hungry senator, they formed a bond that nothing could break. Only a lack of trust ripped them apart.

Seven years later, Daly has reason to believe that Jeremiah’s brother is in trouble. She reaches out to Jeremiah the only way she knows how: at his BDSM club, The Underground. But one look ignites a heat she thought had cooled forever. As Jeremiah takes control of her body once again, Daly quickly loses control of her carefully rebuilt world. Too much has never been enough between them, and as danger swirls in the shadows, Jeremiah forces Daly to recognize what has never changed: She still loves him. His command is that she return her heart—and he will make her obey.

As she got older, her need to devour all genres of romance–including contemporary, paranormal, and sci-fi—grew. Now, when she’s not working her day job, you can usually find her at her keyboard, using every spare second to write. She lives with her husband and three teenage daughters in rural Georgia.

REVIEW

I found this book to be fantastic, I loved it. It was incredibly well written. I didn't want to put it down. The relationship between Daly and Jeremiah sucked me right in. The words evoked every emotion to the surface you felt their pain, anguish, happiness, love, lust, hatred, fun, betrayal, and triumph. Griffith has a real winner with this book. I will definitely be recommending it. The supporting characters were equally as compelling. I am eager to learn more about them hopefully in a sequel. Jeremiah's club, The Underground,  even played a significant role, it set the scene and provided the means for the couple to play out their BDSM roles. It was the catalyst that their relationship needed to get back on track.

The tumultuous situations that the characters got themselves into made you feel like you were right there with them. This was an amazing story of love, friendship, loss, heartache, and triumph. Whisper by Tressie Lockwood Book Review

I really enjoyed reading Whisper. I found both the plot and characters to be very interesting. I liked that Whisper was a full figured woman, that is lacking in many romance novel heroines today. She had self-esteem issues, but she fought to make the best of her life. When Whisper and her friend Sheila meet her sexy neighbor, Alec and his pet leopard, she doesn't know if she wants to throw herself at him or run screaming. Whisper is a very strong woman, she overcame the obstacles that were thrown in her path to prevent a relationship between her and Alec. I don't think I would have kept giving him chances, more power to her. She fought wholeheartedly for what she wanted. This was a good read from beginning to end.

Shit! We’re nose-diving toward Eden Island. I pictured how my New York Times obituary might read when I’m gone, “Taddy Brill, Manhattanite, dethroned descendant of the Austrian House of Brillford royalty, dies at age eighteen, penniless, unloved, and a virgin.” I swear this crap only happens to me. Suddenly, Leon pulls me with Fabian and Gustave. Adrenaline racing through me, our bodies clung as one. We prepared to…crash.

Colorblind (Moonlight)

Deeply moving and sexy. A truly enjoyable book. My heart ached for the slaves and what they had to endure because of the color of their skin. Leon and Penny despite adversity were able to love each other. I appreciated how strong the characters were. This book was beautifully written, it displayed the hardships of those times and the strong will the African Americans had to survive. Threw it all the characters were able to find love despite their racial differences.

Taken by Moonlight book review

Love, loved this book. I can't get enough of Conall Athelwulf. Like they say today he is EVERYTHING. Uber alpha male who is strong, sexy, loving, and protective. He is everything you want in a romance hero wrapped up in a delectable package. Definitely book boyfriend material. He is one dreamy werewolf. I loved his connection with Vivienne. He would do anything for Vivienne, as she would for him. Their love was challenged and tested, but they overcame every obstacle that was thrown at them and came out stronger. Awesome interracial romance story. I highly recommend this book, you won't want to put it down. I'm eager for more from Violette Dubrinsky.

'The bicycle fence' by Tom Noll book review

http://www.examiner.com/review/the-bicycle-fence-by-tom-noll-book-review
The Trash to Treasure Series latest book "The Bicycle Fence" by Tom Noll is fun, informative, and insightful. The importance of recycling and taking care of our planet is progressively becoming foremost on people's priorities. Recycling for a while now has been an integral part of helping to save our planet. This book shows children a great way that they too can help save their planet by reusing and recycling.

LT is a little boy that comes from a family that lives a green lifestyle. LT is a smart and resourceful boy. he promotes going green and rides his bicycle to school. When he needs a new bike LT's day doesn't think twice about going to the local junkyard Recycleville to find a bike for LT, like his dad's truck. LT is worried that his bike will be rainbow colored like his dad's truck that everyone calls the junkyard truck. LT doesn't want to have a bike deemed the junkyard bike, in this cute and smart book,
LT tries to find a way to solve his problem.

I would definitely recommend this book for young learners, I think it is a fun way to learn about the benefits of recycling and how you can use recycled products. The illustrations were bold and beautifully done.. I enjoyed the story from beginning to end. I would absolutely use this book in the classroom during lessons about recycling, and helping to save our planet.

Choice book review

I truly enjoyed reading this. I think the storyline, setting, and characters were very well thought out. As I read each page I found myself engrossed in the world that she was weaving with her words. Raif and Natasha, are two great characters. I want to know more about them as the series continues. Their strength and courage was a great asset to their character. I found them very likable. I hope that they will soon be reunited. I wanted to weep for them for the sacrifices they had to make.

With the help of her besties and a drool worthy cop named Ford Gotti, she makes the best out of a tough situation. After reading this book I want to read all the books in the series. About the book:

Lauren Layne’s heart-wrenching novel tells the story of a girl with secrets, a guy with scars, and a love that could save them both . . . or destroy them.

When Olivia Middleton abandons the glamour of Park Avenue for a remote, coastal town in Maine, everyone assumes she’s being the kind do-gooder she’s always been. But Olivia has a secret: helping an injured war veteran reenter society isn’t about charity—it’s about penance. Only, Olivia’s client isn’t the grateful elderly man she’s expecting. Instead, he’s a brooding twenty-four-year-old who has no intention of being Olivia’s path to redemption . . . and whose smoldering gaze and forbidden touch might be her undoing.
Paul Langdon doesn’t need a mirror to show him he’s no longer the hotshot quarterback he was before the war. He knows he’s ugly—inside and out. He’ll do anything to stay in self-imposed exile, even accept his father’s ultimatum that Paul tolerate the newest caretaker for three months or lose his inheritance. But Paul doesn’t count on the beautiful twenty-two-year-old who makes him long for things that he can never have. And the more she slips past his defenses, the more keeping his distance is impossible.
Now Paul and Olivia have to decide: Will they help each other heal? Or are they forever broken?

** Teaser Reveal!**

Olivia squirms. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I've never known a female to acquiesce that easily without a catch. How about you hit me with it now and get it over with?”
Olivia shrugs. "Fine. I was going to say that I won't run alone, if you promise to go with me."
"No," I say, almost before she's finished her sentence.
"Why not?"
I rap my cane once against the ground. "Well, for starters, despite the fact that there are tortoises that could surpass your sorry excuse for a jog, I'm in no shape to accompany even the most pathetic of runners."
"What a handy skill you have of overloading a sentence with insults," she says as she reaches up to adjust her ponytail. "That must be helpful what with your thriving social life and all."
I thump my cane against the ground again, studying her. "Must be nice, picking on the cripple."
Olivia rolls her eyes. "Please. Your soul's more crippled than your leg."
She has no idea how right she is, and I have no intention of letting her anywhere close enough to find out. I've gotten good at shutting people out by pushing them away . . . being as nasty as possible until they reach their breaking point. But with her? It's different.

Synopsis:
ONE-CLICK * $0.99 CENTS * LIMITED TIME ONLY

This summer, I’d planned to celebrate my eighteenth birthday in Europe with my fellow Manhattanites—Taddy Brill, Blake Morgan, and Vive Farnworth—until I caught my boyfriend screwing my mother. According to the police report, this vomit-inducing incident happened around the same time I’d supposedly blown-up my mother’s penthouse. Like I’m walking around Soho with a stick of dynamite in my Louis Vuitton purse—not! Now, my besties and I are in jail.

Officer Ford Gotti, the Harley-wheelin’ biker cop who arrested us, keeps sticking his perfectly-sculpted nose into my case. His inked body is jacked like a superhero, and he says I can trust him. He wants me to fess up. I won’t. Not again. Why should I? My friends and I had a previous stint in juvie that nearly destroyed us. I gotta protect them and keep my mouth shut. Right?

—Lex Easton, women’s studies major, motorcycle enthusiast, and virgin.

Naughty Excerpt from Love, Lex

Excerpt from Chapter Seven: The Ride of My Life
*the set up: Lex and Ford go for a ride on his motorcycle
The bike rolled into the garage and stopped. Ford pushed a button, and the garage lights came on as the door closed. Kicking the stand, he got to his feet and cut the engine.

Mindful of where I sat, he lifted his leg and got off the bike. When he removed his helmet, I noticed his eyes weren’t as dark as before. They had hints of hazel in them. His brow furrowed into a straight line when he caught me staring at him.

Quickly, I looked down at the bike and reached up to take my helmet off.

Allow me.” His big hands came under my chin. He tilted my jaw upward. “Such a beautiful face, Lex. I like looking at you.”

Thank you…”

I’d heard the “pretty face but” backhanded compliment my entire life. I waited for him to say, “But your body could use some work.” Or my personal favorite, “It’s a shame you forgot to take care of the rest of you.”

Ford didn’t say anything of the sort. He studied me just as he did back in the jail, from head to toe. I’m so uncomfortable. Not because of anything he’s doing, but because usually that is when men, and sometimes women, stop looking at me all together.

He unfastened my chinstrap and teased, “Let’s see if your hair has static.”

Trying to stand, I laughed nervously.

Stay seated.” He removed my helmet and placed both his and mine behind me. He swung my right leg to the left side of the bike, framing my body with his. He cupped my face in his hands.

Hot cop fantasy? Heck no. This was real. He was going to…

Ford licked his bottom lip. His facial features strained, becoming serious. The tip of his nose touched mine. I smelled mint when he exhaled. “No roommate. Yup, I live alone.” Then he kissed me.

My head fell back into his grip.

With determination, he tongued me, deeply, clockwise, oh yes even his flippin’ tongue was strong and precise, just like the way he weaved his bike through traffic.

Enthusiastically he unbuttoned the straps on my overalls and then without even looking, still lip-to-lip, he worked the closure on the left side then the right.  The denim flaps fell to the front and the back.

Stand for a sec.” Ford lifted me up in the air as if I were a weightless feather. He planted both my feet on the ground, and then he shanked the overalls to my ankles.

Ford—” Before I could finish whatever I was going to say, he lifted up my shirt and swiftly placed me back on the motorcycle. Worried I’d fall, I dug my back into the seat, reached for each handlebar, pulling myself up as I gasped and garbled some words.

He slid his fingers through the purple waistband on my underwear.

My entire body stood to attention.

I want you naked so I can admire your body, and fuck you, on my bike.”

Air, I needed to breath. Afraid I might pass out, I inhaled through my nostrils and wrapped my arms around his shoulders. “Umm, Ford,” I whispered when he came in to kiss me again.

What the heck was I going to say? “Excuse me, but as hawt as this whole bike thing sounds, my Lady V and I would be more comfortable on a bed, sofa, or even the floor.” I felt as if I might knock the bike over any second now.

Nervous?” Ford sensed my apprehension.

Very,” I replied without thinking.

I told you not to be.” He repositioned himself holding my legs over his right shoulder.

The panties came off. Then he lifted one leg and rested it on his other shoulder. Leaning down, his hands scooped under my back and unfastened my bra. No directions necessary. This dude could do this undressing thing, in the dark.

But Ford, ya see, I’m—”

That tongue of magic. Thick and velvety, warm and wetter than the spot between my legs, Ford slipped back into my mouth. This time he rotated counterclockwise.

Dang. Ford is an Olympic kisser. For round two, I braced myself in his arms.

Legs spread wide, my ass still sat on the bike.
